We’re happy to welcome back to Sonic Summerstock our good friend Pete Lutz, who, with the Narada Radio Company, brings us what Pete claims is a lost episode of the classic radio series “Escape”! Naturally we’ll take his word for it — the story centers around a handful of intergalactic hitchhikers, who are magnetically fastened to the outside of a fast-moving rocket ship, headed for Earth. One of the men is an agent of the Interplanetary Police, trying to determine which of the others is inadvertently carrying secret information planted in his brain by agents of the Venusian army, which is at war with Mars. The story, by Ray Bradbury, has all the elements of an episode of Escape: adventure, intrigue, and a twist ending. We’re certain you’ll enjoy this entry from Pete and his Narada players!

We’re back to Sunday Showcase’s Mutual Presents as we continue with another favourite from the Mutual Broadcasting System, our spiritual forefather to the Mutual Audio Network- This week one the Crime Club we feature “Epitaph for Lydia” and “The Corpse Wore a Wig”!
This week at the Playhouse we have a double feature of sorts. We begin with the latest performance by Chicago’s Northside/Southside Radio Players. “The Man From Lot Two”: a zany musical comedy adapted for audio theater from a 1966 script originally penned by authors Bob Connelly and Raymon Bruce, who worked in Hollywood on the crews of hit TV shows and after that, The Amigos Collective brings their third adventure recreation of Carlton E. Morse’s classic “I Love a Mystery” and specifically that favourite of Bill Hollweg- “Temple of Vampires”. Since they featured episodes one and two last month on Sunday Showcase, the team are recreating episode three early here on the Sonic Summerstock stage before beginning the full run on Thursday Thrillers!
This week we begin our seventeenth season of Sonic Summerstock with another incredible tale from Jeffrey Billard. But let us let, Jeff tell the tale: 127 miles an hour. And rising.
