Welcome back to Mutual Presents. This week, we’re reintroducing our Tuesday Terror feature from the classic days of the Mutual Broadcasting System, and this time the incredibly eclectic anthology series- The Mysterious Traveler! This series ran on Mutual from December 1943 until about September of 1952. This tremendously popular radio show was truly an all around favorite for any mystery lover of the time. It was the brainchild and magnum opus of golden age writing greats Robert Arthur and David Kogan. The series was nominated for the coveted Edgar award for “Best Radio Drama” in 1949, 1951 and finally garnered a hands down win in 1953. The only show to have more nominations was CBS powerhouse Suspense. The Mysterious Traveler scripts totaled nearly 400 with only about 70 surviving today! Of those seventy we begin our voyage with the Traveler with “The House of Death” and “The Good Die Young”!

Summerstock Playhouse returns for a penultimate week with the amazing Rachel Pulliam and Sole Twin Audio featuring “The Most Dangerous Game” adapted from the archetypal short story of Richard Connell and the classic Escape series!

We return to Mutual Presents! This week we’re back with “The Voyage of the Scarlet Queen” and more classic old time radio from the Mutual Broadcasting System with the double feature of adventure with “Kang’s Treasure and the Ghost of Tangolan Bay” and “Beautiful Girl in the Bargain Basement”.

Welcome back to Mutual Presents! This week we sample another amazing science fiction series- the first of it’s kind from Old Time Radio and of course from the Mutual Audio Network’s spiritual grandfather- the Mutual Broadcasting System. It’s 2000 Plus! This series ran on the Mutual Broadcasting System from March 15, 1950 to January 2, 1952 in various 30-minute time slots. A Dryer Weenolsen production, it was the first adult science fiction series on radio, airing one month prior to the better known Dimension X. This week we have “The Men from Mars” and “When the Machines went Mad”!
