Sonic Summerstock Playhouse 13.2A:Sole Twin Audio’s “The Turn of the Screw

This week the Sonic Summerstock Playhouse begins its first act with Rachel Pulliam and Sole Twin Audio‘s adaptation of “The Turn of the Screw” from their Patchwork Classics series. The cast for this epic includes Sharon Grünwald as Announcer, Ross Bernhard as The Whistler, Ted Bjorndal as Douglas, Karl Nordman as The Uncle, Tanya Rich as The Governess, Fiona Mack as Mrs. Grose, Melissa Fry as Flora, Taylor Johnson as Miles, Pete Lutz as Peter Quint, Lana O’Kell as Miss Jessel, Jerry Kokich, Anusia Battersby, Fiona Thraille, Tony Francis, and as the Patchwork Classics Voices Lillian Rachel, Adam Blanford, Alexandra Macedo, Karl Werner, Larry Groebe, Gareth Bowley, Erin Suminsby, Theodore Perez, John Lingard, Caleb Bressler, and Nate James as the Jurors.

Sonic Summerstock Playhouse 13.1B: The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial (Act II)

Act II of The Narada Radio Company presentation of a remake of the BBC adaptation of THE CAINE MUTINY COURT-MARTIAL, kicking off the 12th (?) Season of Sonic Summerstock Playhouse! Herman Wouk’s moving novel of World War Two was condensed by the author into a two-act play, which the BBC broadcast in the 1950s. This remake for Sonic Summerstock was recorded over Zoom and comprised of actors from California, Texas, Illinois, and the United Kingdom.

Sonic Society #738- Well it’s Unwell!

It’s our finale for season 17 and Jack and David are feeling a little “Unwell” from the long year! It’s “Unwell-a Midwest Gothic” episodes one and two “Homecoming” and “The Diner”!  Lillian Harper moves to the small town of Mt. Absalom, Ohio, to care for her estranged mother Dorothy after an injury. Living in the town’s boarding house which has been run by her family for generations, she discovers conspiracies, ghosts, and a new family in the house’s strange assortment of residents.

This week Jack and David go out in deep space where biologist Violet Liu is floating through the void, trapped in a doomed research ship. She’s the sole survivor of a devastating explosion, and frankly, her odds aren’t looking great, either. But when she is contacted by the charming—and woefully inexperienced—Captain Kay Grisham, Violet learns she might have one last shot at making it out alive. Unfortunately, it’s a real longshot. Our feature show is “The Strange Case of Starship Iris” and episode 1- “Violet Lui” by Jessica Best!

This week Jack and David visit a Dystopian world in which Money, State, and God becomes fused into a single entity called “The Program“. Each episode is a self-contained story focusing on ordinary people inhabiting this extraordinary world. And for them, it is not this future that is terrifying – it is our present. This week we present: ‘You had me at “Hello World”‘.
