Firefly

After watching part of Firefly with my sons recently, I was reminded of all the times Old Wounds keep festering. I fixed my laptop a year ago only to find out that the owner/operator of the business was a browncoat fan of Old Wounds.

My sister pointed out too that friends of hers tried to hook her on this fan made audio drama of everyone’s favourite space cowboys.

They didn’t believe it was her brother who made it.

For those of us, eight years later, still waiting for the original story to continue, saddle up and check out a couple of places.

Jill Arroway’s comprehensive timeline in which she kindly includes our offering to the ‘Verse and her equally exciting audio drama and collections in Badger Books where you can find “Old Wounds”, “Wedding Day”, “Moonshine”, “Badger’s World”, “Borderline” and much more.

Better Late Than Never- Shadowlands Returns

After a lot of waiting, I’ve finally taken about six hours to hunt down, properly tag, upload and link the original Shadowlands Theatre series of audio drama in the Electric Vicuna website.

Here you’ll find the alternate reality Biff Straker to help you wait for the delayed reboot. The original adventure of “Philip Graves” in Graves’ Shift, as well as all the available episodes of “The Deadly Sins” as well as “Right Number, Wrong Party”, and “Remotely Possible”. You can also enjoy our tribute to a famous British sit-com with “Hill Manors”.

Note I’ve also included a link to download one of my favourites, “Muse of Madness” (a Lovecraftian tribute) the new Consortium Comics show “Any Man” as well as “Faith” from the Dead Line Series and a few extra interviews.

All the fun can be found at the Downloads Section at EVP!

Lost Frequency

Five years seems to be the threshold for a lot of shows lately.

Say what you will, the loss of Variant Frequencies will be the hardest for me.

Can’t say much more than this, other than, Rick Stringer, I’m going to miss this man.

A whole lot. 🙁

Podcasting Survey

It appears to be survey season!

For those folks who feel left out because of the recent Sonic Gold survey, here’s another one!

It’s quick and its simple and it comes from Alan Middleton, an associate prof at Ohio University. Mr. Middleton is trying to get an idea of how folks listen and download their favourite shows.

Please give him a moment of your time and click through some fast pages.

Click the link on the survey.

Thanks for helping spread the word!

A Tweet that’s not Twaddle

It happened.

It really happened.

Roger Ebert, the most famous name in movie critics used his Twitter account and posted a message about our own Canadian Decoder Ring Theatre.

This goes into my thoughts that the longer running modern audio theatre is out there, the more folks will find it, and the more it will creep back into the consciousness.

Audio Drama is not gone folks. At worst it was on life support, and while it lives a secret life from most people today, it is a vibrant and exciting one. Come join us if you already haven’t.

Congratulations, Gregg, Clarissa, and everyone over at the Decoder Ring Mansion. What a triumph!!

BB See Less

In a recent article on The Daily Telegraph Gillian Reynolds despairs in the slow choking out of the BBC’s audio drama department. In fact, the department will now be merged with “documentaries”.

Does the BBC not realize what they are losing? Audio drama across the Internet has been steadily on the rise. It has not been diminishing, it has been gaining ground with old fans and a new generation of listeners.

Please join me and others who love the BBC on the Speak Up For Radio Drama Now! facebook group and have your voice heard!
