The Price of Fame!

In celebration of his 100th birthday on May 27th, 2011, Colonial Radio Theatre will produce 30 half-hour episodes based on Blue Water‘s line of comics, some of Prices’s films as well as developing new frightening ones with his estate.

Welcome back to the macabre world of Vincent Price!

Who’s a Pro?

Broken Seas Doctor Who has a pro lending a hand!

The exciting series starring Mark Kalita as the Doctor has caught the attention of Mat Nastas if that name is not immediately familiar to you, his work sure should be. Mr. Nastos’ work has appeared in 27 countries and printed in 9 language. He’s been commissioned by everyone from Marvel and DC Comics to Disney and the Sci-Fi Channel, from Playboy to Highlights for Kids.

Mr. Nastas’ works have included videogame titles such as Throne of Darkness, Barbie Super Sports and he’s been involved in more than 300 television episodes as a storyboard artist, writer and director and 100 films.

Got your attention? How about the amazing Disney show “Phineas & Ferb” he’s just finished as writer and segment director?

Yeah, that Mat Nastas.

And now he’s working with the Broken Sea Hooligans in making more Whovian goodness.

Congratulations Boys, what a coup!

Disney Drama

Well, look who’s interested in Audio Drama now?

According to the CBC website, Radio Disney is making a jump to a teen audio drama series about a girl who wants to become a singer.

Does Disney know something many other stations don’t? Or is this a new trend we’re going to see return to the airwaves?

We’re hopeful as always, and will continue looking. Thanks so much to Jeff Adams from the Icebox Radio Theater for pointing us in the direction of this story!

The Blue Defender gets Animated!

The amazing Drew Little has been working hard to produce the Electric Vicuña Productions of “Blue Defender” in his first adventure “Rebirth” part of the Consortium Comics series of superhero stories. Enjoy this amazing animation!

And check out Part 2!

The Viewing Room

It’s not often that we post about items in the visual medium. But it’s important to note that while great audio drama was being produced the Silver Screen was also pumping out some super move gems that often made their way into radio shows like Lux Radio Theater and Screen Director’s Playhouse among others.

Check out this great new website The Viewing Room as it sets itself up to show us some great old time classics. It’s in preparation mode, but while you’re waiting in  the lobby, have a listen to some great radio plays won’t you?

Firefly

After watching part of Firefly with my sons recently, I was reminded of all the times Old Wounds keep festering. I fixed my laptop a year ago only to find out that the owner/operator of the business was a browncoat fan of Old Wounds.

My sister pointed out too that friends of hers tried to hook her on this fan made audio drama of everyone’s favourite space cowboys.

They didn’t believe it was her brother who made it.

For those of us, eight years later, still waiting for the original story to continue, saddle up and check out a couple of places.

Jill Arroway’s comprehensive timeline in which she kindly includes our offering to the ‘Verse and her equally exciting audio drama and collections in Badger Books where you can find “Old Wounds”, “Wedding Day”, “Moonshine”, “Badger’s World”, “Borderline” and much more.

Shiny!

Better Late Than Never- Shadowlands Returns

After a lot of waiting, I’ve finally taken about six hours to hunt down, properly tag, upload and link the original Shadowlands Theatre series of audio drama in the Electric Vicuna website.

Here you’ll find the alternate reality Biff Straker to help you wait for the delayed reboot. The original adventure of “Philip Graves” in Graves’ Shift, as well as all the available episodes of “The Deadly Sins” as well as “Right Number, Wrong Party”, and “Remotely Possible”. You can also enjoy our tribute to a famous British sit-com with “Hill Manors”.

Note I’ve also included a link to download one of my favourites, “Muse of Madness” (a Lovecraftian tribute) the new Consortium Comics show “Any Man” as well as “Faith” from the Dead Line Series and a few extra interviews.

All the fun can be found at the Downloads Section at EVP!
