2. Introduction with Jack and Shannon

Welcome everyone to the Sonic Society- the world’s biggest Showcase of Audio Theatre. I’m Jack Ward with Shannon Hilchie. For new listeners, each week we like to bring to you some of the brand new Audio Drama out there. For everyone else, thanks for hanging out with us for so long!

As you may already know, we’re in Season 5 of the Sonic Society, and every year we do this, I actually worry that we’ll run out of shows to showcase. After all, putting on a new episode every week is a heck of a lot of audio drama. Certainly we include some serials and two-parters, and our own works, but still that’s a whole lot of audio drama.

But I’m always amazed at actually how much is out there, and how much has been out there that we haven’t explored yet.  And tonight is no exception. Our feature presentation is one of the longest running amateur audio drama- and I mean amateur in the best sense of the word! I’m speaking no less of Searcher & Stallion. With grateful thanks to writer, producer, actor extrodinare Scott Howard who pointed me to S&S, I found the website and the podcast a rich mixture of great science fiction amidst an amazing music pallate. Scott’s story was first featured in Salt Lake City’s KRCL 90.9 FM back in the 90’s!  In the podcast you listen to take after take as Scott and his team meticulously get each scene exactly the way they like in the time of tape. This is a show that has matured with deep affection and has a mythos and a life that most of us “newbies” by comparison just wish we had the opportunity to create. Maybe we’ll all get there yet.

Of course after our feature, we’ll continue our serial from Teknikal Diffikulties with part 5 of “The Account”.

But let’s have a check in with Zug Beud and the mailbag first, shall we?

    Is this show available?

It hasn’t appeared in iTunes yet.

    Thanks,
    Denis

    Hi Denis

This particular story is available at the searcherandstallion.com website.

This is Scott from Searcher and Stallion. To get listed on Itunes you have to go through a publisher. If I have a music cd, its easy to self publish by going through Tunecore to get on Itunes.

For audio books, or books on tape, or audio dramas, I have to use Audible.com as a publisher to get on Itunes, and we’re still going through their selection process.

In fact, you could help us get on Itunes by shooting an email to this fellow
