The Railroad Hobo is around for another circuit of the Transcontinental Terror! In this first of their three new productions for Transcontinental Terror the Narada Radio Company presents a young couple who take over house-sitting duties in what they think is a quiet neighborhood, but while the woman is home alone, unpacking, waiting for her husband to arrive, she gets some strange visitors, and make a horrifying discovery! Grab your tickets please. All aboard!!!

The Progression of Learning

One of the benefits of being a teacher and introducing audio drama to my students, is to see how it engages them in ways that no other media does. Students in the 21st century are programmed to respond visually, but that often means not responding as critically or creatively.

Will Anderson from Central Michigan University uses his knowledge of creating radio drama to help audio drama kids with Autism. He’s not the only one. Craig Robotham from Weird World Studios has a long history of helping teachers with autistic students discover the world of radio drama.

Check out this CMU Public Radio News Article on the great things Professor Anderson is doing!

Audio for Autism

performance-300x225Audio Drama provides so many benefits to communities, from social awareness and activism, to education and helping the autistic community. Craig Robotham from Weird World Studios has been very public about the use of radio drama in his own household and opens his scripts up to any families with autistic members but now we see Will Anderson a professor at Central Michigan University creating audio drama to help kids learn social skills. The full story can be found at CMU Public Radio News website.

There are so many reasons for making audio drama one of your tools to bring stories to the world. What are yours?
