Oral Tales and Audio Drama

Forbes knew it was coming two years ago.

In an article written by Chris Giliberti, from Gimlet Media entitled 6 Reasons Why Podcasting is the Future of Storytelling, Giliberti identifies why podcasting- and oral storytelling (we would argue audio drama) is key and king.

In a nutshell the business-side is starting to catch up with the creative folks:

  • Investment
  • Content
  • Talent
  • Distribution
  • Connected
  • VR

The truth is we’re genetically predisposed towards stories- good stories. As a native tradition suggests: Human beings have four great appetites. The first is food and a human can go weeks without eating. The second is water and a human can go days without drinking. The third is air and a human can go minutes without breathing, and the last is imagination and if a human’s imagination disappears for a moment they seek to exist and all things around them.

Story is simply the building block of life. Nothing exists without it. And the best way through is listening to stories. Listen to a story today!

2019 The Year of Audio

It’s been a long time coming, but those of us who have been in the trenches for years could foresee the day during even the longest nights. Forbes Magazine in one of their latest articles The Audio Boom: How Podcasts are Changing the Game for Marketers by David Shadpour has identified that people are tuning in and turning on to audio.

“A lot can change in a year, especially when it comes to marketing trends. If 2018 was the year of video, 2019 will be the year of audio. From smart speakers to connected cars, the audio content sphere is booming. Rising over the past decade, podcasts are at the helm of audio’s resurgence. Podcasts are smashing the limitations associated with staring at screens and, thus, emerging as a ubiquitous presence in our everyday lives.”

It’s almost like we told you so… almost.

Great Time to join us on Mutual Audio Network!

Forbes Finds ADPP!

In a recent article by Sarah Rhea Werner Forbes had a great article on 7 Podcast Communities to Join. One of the communities (the bonus eight) was the awesome Audio Drama Production Podcast community. Congratulations, Sarah Golding and the Lads from Scotland! From the article:

I didn’t initially include the Audio Drama Production Facebook group because I wasn’t initially an audio drama creator. But as I fumbled and flailed my way through creating my very first audio drama, Girl In Space, the information I gleaned and the people I met within this group became invaluable. So if you’re interested in fictional podcasts (which are exploding, by the way), join this group and be amazed.
