This week it’s the completion of Edward Einhorn and Untitled Theatre Company No. 61’s “The Iron Heel” adapted from the Jack London story. Welcome to… AUDIO DRAMA TIME!
And we’re back with part two of the three-part audio drama from Edward Einhorn and Untitled Theatre Company No. 61 entitled “The Iron Heel” adapted from the Jack London story. And of course that means it’s… AUDIO DRAMA TIME!
This week, we have the first of a three-part audio drama from Edward Einhorn and Untitled Theatre Company No. 61 adapted from the 1908 dystopian novel by Jack London called “The Iron Heel” and that can only mean it is… AUDIO DRAMA TIME!
This week, Fairies wreak havoc on the lives of their favorite human podcasters during 2020 lockdown. This modern adaptation of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, set during 2020 NYC with bickering fae, flirtatious mortals, and a podcast within a podcast, must be the work of none other than The Faustian Nonsense Network. This phenomenal group has a beautiful collection of audio drama, fiction, and live play shows and much, much more. But we begin with their first outing with “A Midsummer Quarantine, episode 1- An Honest Puck“! It’s Audio Drama time!
We’re back with Season 17! Jack and David welcome one and all to the world’s largest and longest-running showcase of modern audio drama!
For our premiere, we have a dynamite double-feature beginning with James O’Neill’s “The Scarlet Cross“.
And Residents of Proserpina Park from Angela Yih! The park is a beautiful and wonderful place with no screaming children, crowded spaces, or trash littered everywhere. The catch? The park residents might not be so welcoming. Welcome back, it’s Audio Drama time!
And finally in our season finale for Sonic Summerstock 12 we have Pete Lutz with The Narada Radio Company Presenting: “The Derelict”. An episode of the hit radio series “Escape”, originally Aired In 1953. Producer Pete chose to put a sci-fi spin on this tale of shipwrecked castaways. Other than that, it’s the same story Of treachery, deceit and murder that went out over the airwaves 68 years ago!
Jack Ward sits in with David Ault for this final performance.
We return to Mutual Presents with Season 2 as we begin an audio replay of the MAD-CON 2021 Events. We begin with the “Welcome and Opening Discussion:” from Friday July 23rd with host Jack Ward and panellists David Ault, Lothar Tuppan, and Jeff Billard! All full videos can be found on the Mutual Audio Network Channel!
Returning to the Sonic Summerstock stage is Larry Groebe’s Project Audion with The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. The episode from December 3, 1945 entitled “Murder in the Casbah” has been carefully re-created by a terrific Project Audion cast which includes voice actors performing from England, Hollywood, and multiple locations inbetween!
Another fantastic creation from the Mutual Broadcasting System was “The Shadow”. And the Shadow Recreation Society on youtube has been hard at work to recreate these grand episodes! “Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows!” The opening lines of the “Detective Story” program captivated listeners and are instantly recognizable even today. Originally the narrator of the series of macabre tales, the eerie voice known as The Shadow became so popular to listeners that “Detective Story” was soon renamed “The Shadow,” and the narrator became the star of the old-time mystery radio series, which ran until 1954. This week the Recreation Society recreates “The Bells of St. Peters” and “The Shadows Revenge” in a special Playhouse double feature!
This week’s time in the Playhouse features the amazing Project Audion group with Larry Groebe. Tonight’s Project Audion recreation begins with a few bars from “I’m a Yankee Doodle Dandy,” for the summer. This particular episode is not a recreation of an old script but rather an original one written by Bob Hope staff writer Robert L. Mills.
